About OFFAR Foundation
Oluponna Fish Farming and Resource Foundation (OFFAR Foundation) is a Non Governmental Organization owned by the Catholic
Archdiocese of Ibadan, Nigeria.
The Foundation began operations in 1984 as a farm enterprise and in 2006, evolved into a training Institute known as
‘Oluponna Fish Farming Education and Resource Centre (OFFERCentre)’ through the support of the Embassy of France in
In the year 2014, the Foundation was officially registered as an NGO with the Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria
and given the name Oluponna Fish Farming and Resource Foundation (OFFAR Foundation).
The Foundation has three main arms:
- - The Farm which commenced operations in 1984
- - The Training Institution which commenced operations in 2006
- - The Resort which commenced operations in 2010.
The Farm and Resort are incorporated with the name “Oluponna Fish Farming Enterprises” while the Training Institution is
licensed by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) in Nigeria under the name OFFERCentre Institute of Agriculture.
The Training Institute
runs three programmes, Vocational Certificate in Catering, Hospitality and Crafts,
National Vocational Certificate in Agriculture and National Innovative Diploma in Agriculture.
The certificate programme is flexible with duration of 1 day to 3 years depending on the course
and individual/group undertaking the training. The diploma programme runs for 2 years after which graduates either
further their education into HND/ Direct Entry programmes in Polytechnics/Universities or become gainfully engaged as
employers or employees as the case may be.
is engaged in the production of Agricultural produce such as live and processed fish, poultry meat and eggs, livestock, seedlings and crops. The farm also provides a practical base for trainees and a sustainability scheme for the Foundation.
The Resort Department
has three main units; catering, services and sports.
The catering unit
comprises of the Restaurant, Bar and Canteen.
The services and sports unit
provides accommodation and sports facilities respectively. These units cater to the needs of students, staff and guests of the Foundation for recreation, relaxation and learning.

We have at our roll call, highly committed and qualified Staff including external facilitators for the execution of all our projects and we are willing to bring more on board with further expansion of our activities.
