National Vocational Certificate (NVC) Programme

The National Vocational Certificate is awarded to individuals who have been trained in specialized technical skills of Agriculture and for a period of One Year. The training is practical oriented with the aim of producing highly skilled technicians to meet the needs of the Agricultural Industry as well as produce individuals who will be capable of establishing and managing efficiently their own Agribusiness.
The NVC programme targets the following categories of individuals and groups:
1. Post Secondary Students with less than 5 credits in WAEC/NECO and who are unable to gain admission into Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges.
2. Retirees
3. Civil Servant and Staff of organizations who desire to embark on Agribusiness
4. Graduates of Tertiary Institutions who desire to acquire technical skills in different areas of Agriculture
5. Farmers who desire to improve their skills in different areas of Agribusiness
6. Youths and Women

    DURATION

  • - ONE YEAR Span of intensive training.

  • - The NVC in Agriculture is in flexible modular form, and it is structured to have three terms i.e. NVC term I, NVC term II and NVC term III) each taken in a span of one year. Each part incorporates six months intensive training in the school and three months of supervised industrial work experience (SIWES) and the trainee has the benefit of exiting at any of the levels, i.e. NVC 1 or NVC 2 or take the option of completing the course study.
